Applying for Funding

Last updated 18 days ago

We don't seek funding for you, that's up to you to do. We do recommend the following as good starting points though:

  • Attend a Gift Collective webinar with funders - we try to do these bi-monthly.

  • Check out The Centre for Social Impact's

  • Check out and register for their database of grants.

  • Check out - a tool that uses AI to help you find grants and then write applications for them. If you'd like to join Fundsorter, get in touch with Chloe and she can get you set up.

What to know about applying for funding

When applying for grants/funds through an application form, you will be responsible for completing the form, but we will need to approve it before you apply. Please send us a copy of each funding application you make, before you submit it.

You will need to state that you are with a fundholder - here's some suggested wording to describe the relationship:

The Gift Trust is a philanthropic trust and registered NZ charity that distributes funding on behalf of its donors to charitable causes. It also runs a project called 'Gift Collective' that provides a fiscal sponsorship or fund-holding service to small or emerging charitable causes across NZ that are not registered. This application is from 'Your Collectives Name' who have been accepted to sit under Gift Collective's fundholding service.
